Xtra Time Web Desk : Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday clinched a 1-0 win over rivals Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16, courtesy of a late Kylian Mbappe strike.

It was a clash of Titans in the marquee fixture as the French giants clashed against Los Blancos. But it was Pochettino’s team who took the initiative from the start with a lot of possession at their disposal and a lot of chances created in the first half. However, Lionel Messi & co. failed to register their first goal in the first half despite of creating opportunities for them.

In the second half though, things changed and PSG created more and more opportunities. But unfortunately, it wasn’t Lionel Messi’s day as he saw his penalty saved by Los Blancos goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.

But the French giants, after that didn’t slow down as Real Madrid failed to register a single shot on target. The precious opportunity was however taken by Kylian Mbappe at the 90+4 minute mark of the match, who skilled away past Casemiro to put his shot past Courtois to seal the deal for his team with a 1-0 win.
