Trevor Morgan submits his list of players for the next season to the club

Kolkata: The season has come to an end for East Bengal after suffering a defeat in the hands of Shillong Lajong in the Federation Cup 2016 at Barasat last week. Before leaving for Australia on Wednesday night or Thursday night, East Bengal coach, Trevor James Morgan had a meeting with East Bengal football secretary, Santosh Bhattacharya on Monday where he had given a probable list of players to be retained and released in the upcoming season. According to sources, Trevor Morgan had given the list of three categories to the football secretary. It is learnt that players like Deepak Mondal, Harmanjot Khabra, Gurwinder Singh, Tulunga, Joaquim Abranches, Rehenesh, Luis Barreto are set to be released with the three foreigners like Ranti Martins, Bello Rasaq and Bernard Mendy. Korean Do-Dong-Hyun is likely to be retained by Trevor Morgan. The Indian players likely to be retained are Saumik Dey, Mehtab Hossain, Arnab Mondal, Robert and Sanju Pradhan. Although, all the three foreigners are to be released but Trevor Morgan himself will be selecting the three new foreigners for the next season. The list of new players to be signed is yet to be known. This is the first time East Bengal officials are giving the full independence to the coach to select his players with the three foreigners but the selection of Indian players will be jointly decided by coach and officials.
