Times Square bill board turns Green & Maroon on 'Mohun Bagan Day'
XtraTime Web Desk: Mohun Bagan fans got a wonderful gift on 29th July midnight when they saw a bill board at Times Square has turned Green & Maroon. The 29th July has been regarded as Mohun Bagan Day to show honour towards it’s IFA Shield win back in 1911 against East Yorkshire Regiment where they beat the English side 2-1.
Mohun Bagan's victory over the East Yorkshire team became one with the freedom struggle of the nation. After Mohun Bagan’s win the countrymen felt that even the mighty British could be defeated. And it is possible with bare feet. Remembering that shield victory, July 29 became Mohun Bagan Day. Which is a day of affection, love and passion for the green-maroon supporters.
