The Inter School Table Tennis State Championships 2017 ends in Grand Style

Kolkata: The Inter School Table Tennis State Championships 2017, organized by the West Bengal Table Tennis Association was held on 29th and 30th August at the Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra. The sole purpose of the tournament was to raise awareness of table tennis among school going students.

The results of the Individual division are as follows:-

Akash Pal of Uttarpara Amarendra Vidyapit defeated Abhijit Basu of Naihati Narendra Vidyapit by a margin of 3-0 in the Senior Boys division.

Akash Pal, “It is a great feeling overall. Last year I participated in the team event while this year I played in the singles event. I want to work harder and achieve a lot from this sport.”

Paiyamanti Baishya of Makla Debeshwari Vidyaniketan defeated Shreya Ghosh of Barrakpore Latbagan High School by a margin of 3-2 in the Senior Girls division.

Paymanti Baishya, “Although I was leading in the game, I lost my focus and as a result the opposition took this opportunity. However I was able to take the game in my hands and then win it”

Rudranarayan Ghosh of Kalyani Public School defeated Swarnabha Saha of Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan by a margin of 3-1 in the Junior Boys division.

While Shreya Bhowmik of Narayani School, Kalyani defeated Sayani Panda of RamMohan Mission by a margin of 3-1 in the Junior Girls division.

In the Team division, the results are as follows:-

Narayani School, Kalyani defeated Kalyani Public School by a 3-1 margin in the Junior Girls division.
Naihati Narendra Vidyamandir defeated Kalyani Public School by a 3-1 margin in the Junior Boys division.

RajMohan Balika Vidyaniketan defeated Rishi Arabindra Balkendram by a 3-1 margin in the Senior Girls division.

Naihati Vidyaniketan defeated Uttarpara Amarendra Vidyapit by a 3-2 margin in the Senior Boys division.
