Xtra Time Web Desk: The tickets for the much anticipated India versus Pakistan clash in the upcoming T20 World Cup were sold out within hours on Thursday. The International Cricket Council confirmed "even the additional standing room tickets were snapped up within minutes of going on sale." The arch-rivals will meet on 23rd October at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

This will be the third time, India will face Pakistan in a calendar year.

The International Cricket Council stated in its release that "The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is set to welcome fans of all ages and backgrounds, with over 5,00,000 fans already securing their place to the event that begins in one month’s time."

The ICC further stated "Only a very limited number of tickets remain for Australia's opening Super 12 fixture against New Zealand at the SCG on 22 October, the double-header featuring Pakistan v Group A runner-up and India v South Africa at Perth Stadium on 30 October, and Pakistan v South Africa at the SCG on 3 November.”

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup will start from 16th October and the Super 12 stage will commence from 22nd October, 2022
