Xtra Time Web Desk: Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyadh and Mushfiqur Rahim were among the four cricketers who decided to stay back in Dubai after the team’s dismal show in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. Also deciding against returning home with other members of the team were Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar.

All four cricketers will join the team ahead of the camp before the series against Pakistan at home which starts from November 12. The Tigers will take on Pakistan in a three-match T20Is and two-match Test series at home starting from November 19.

Bangladesh won two matches in Round 1 of the World Cup and qualified for the Super 12s. But they failed to win any of the five matches they played in the Super 12s stage. There was a huge expectation among the fans back home for the Tigers to put up a good show but they have hugely disappointed.

Although officially it is been stated that the four cricketers wanted to spend some time with family as they are mentally fatigued to be in the bio-bubble for a long time. But according to the national media, the cricketers wanted to avoid the backlash back home.
