Debasis Sen, Kolkata: The Indian Premier League (IPL), which is now in its 11th year has had many moments to remember over the years. One such moment has been Kolkata Knight Rider’s star owner Shah Rukh Khan waving at the packed crowds from the balcony at Eden Gardens. Shah Rukh’s  little daughter Suhana, who made her first appearance at the iconic Eden Gardens on April 20, 2008 when the Knight Riders hosted Deccan Chargers was at the Eden on Saturday. Since then Suhana made quite a few visits to the Eden with her dad.

Come the new season, King Khan made a visit to the Eden Gardens for the very first match of the IPL 2018. He was accompanied with his wife Gauri and co-star Sanjay Kapoor. Last season the Kolkata Knight Riders owner made his only appearance at the Eden Gardens for the final group league match against Mumbai Indians on May 13, 2017. The Bollywood Badshah on that occasion was accompanied with his son Abram.

Seventeen year old Suhana looked resplendent in a white top emblazoned with KKR logo, as she acknowledged the cheers from the home fans from the balcony at B Block.

For a change, SRK who always had a superstition to come into the Eden Gardens after a few overs were bowled entered his home ground about an hour before the first ball was bowled.

KKR’s star owner didn’t lose an opportunity to encourage his new captain Dinesh Karthik who took a masterstroke in getting Nitish Rana into attack as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers was going on rampage. The decision eventually turned out to be gold as Rana gave the home team double strikes, getting both Kohli and AB out with successive deliveries.

The Bollywood superstar is busy shooting overseas for his movie as he’s expected to go back after the first match.
