Kolkata: East Bengal’s Syrian foreigner Mahmoud Al Amnah has reached the city of joy today. Though the Kolkata giants started their practice for the upcoming Calcutta Football League, they missed out their precious foreign midfielder on account of visa problems. However after the visa problems being settled, the former I-League winning midfielder has come to Kolkata today morning to join the Red & Gold Brigade after he made a transfer from I-League winning side Aizawl FC. After joining the team from Sporting Club de Goa last summer, Al Amnah has played a pivotal role in Aizawl’s success. Despite a number of changes in the coaching staff while keeping the core of squad intact for years, the Kolkata club has not been able to win the national league since 2004. It will be interesting to see whether Al Amnah can help the side to win the I-League this season. The Syrian midfielder might join the training from tomorrow.

While talking to the media Amnah said,” I am damn tired today after this long journey. I will take complete rest today and will join the training tomorrow.”

The Red & Gold Brigade’s other two foreigners Willis Deon Plaza and Carlyle Deon Mitchell will arrive to Kolkata on 30th July after completing their International duties for their national side Trinidad and Tobago.
