File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: The Central Reserve Police Force made the proposal of making P V Sindhu an honorary Commandant of their band.  A proposal has already been sent to the Union Home Ministry. The Olympics Silver Medalist also agreed to this proposal according to reports. Along with the Commandant rank she will be the brand ambassador of the Indian para-military force. The reason behind sighting Sindhu as the Commandant and the ambassador has been taken looking after several aspects, among which women empowerment is a key issue. Previously two other successful women Olympians of India Dipa Karmakar and Sakshi Malik were chosen as ambassador of Beti Bachao, Beti Parao initiative in their respective states. But this one for Sindhu is bigger as she has been chosen as a national ambassador. The Silver Medalist of the biggest show on earth has been chosen as the Commandant and ambassador which is not a merely eyewash post. Sindhu has to hold motivational sessions with troops when she is not playing or practicing as the ambassador. Also a Commandant rank in the CRPF is equivalent to the position of a Superintendent of Police (SP) and such an officer commands a battalion of about 1,000 personnel, when posted in field operations. CRPF claims that presence of Sindhu will motivate the battalion. They will also receive encouragement by the presence of the Olympic Medalist. Previously Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was appointed the Brand Ambassador of BSF.
