Shreyas Iyer gears up for test series against England | INDvsENG

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India batter Shreyas Iyer is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the upcoming test series against England. The middle order was batter was seen spending time in the nets after the conclusion of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy game against Andhra Pradesh at the BKC stadium on Monday. The Kolkata Knight Riders captain was seen engaged in a batting session with former India batter Pravin Amre. The session went on for almost an hour and was closely observed by national selector Subrata Banerjee.

Shreyas had a dismal test series against South Africa in the rainbow nation. He could only manage to score 41 runs from four innings with 31 being his highest score in the first test at Centurion.

The star batter was instructed by the national selectors to play the Ranji Trophy game in order to prepare well for the upcoming test series against England. The Mumbaikar also had the option of playing the unofficial test against England Lions at Ahmedabad. Shreyas scored run a ball 48 runs in the Ranji Trophy game.

Talking about his Ranji Trophy outing, Shreyas displayed tremendous patience in the first innings. He did not have a chance to bat in the second innings, as Mumbai secured an outright victory by 10 wickets on the fourth morning of the match on Monday.
