Xtra Time Web Desk: Ace Indian batter Virat Kohli scored his first T20I hundred (122 off 61 balls) against Afghanistan in Super 4 clash of the ongoing Asia Cup on Thursday at Dubai International Stadium. It Kohli’s first hundred after 1021 days and it came opening the batting for India.

Post-match, KL Rahul was asked by a journalist whether Kohli can be looked at as an opening batter seeing how he performed against Afghanistan and how he has done that role for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Kohli has five centuries in the IPL, and all of them came while opening the batting for RCB.

Rahul’s immediate reaction was "Toh kya mai khud beth jaun? (So what? Should I sit out?)"

The Indian vice-captain went on to say that Kohli can score runs batting at No 3 as well.

"Obviously, Virat scoring runs is a huge bonus for the team, and the way he played today against Afghanistan, I know he is very pleased with how he batted today. He has been working on his game and that worked beautifully today. As a team, it is important for every player to get time out in the middle," Rahul said.
