Serie A: Lazio lose to Atalanta 2-3 to help Juventus extend lead on top

XtraTime Web Desk: Lazio succumbed to a 2-3 loss to Atalanta during the Serie A clash at the Gewiss Stadium on Wednesday night. The loss to Lazio gave league leaders Juventus an advantage as the club from Turin now has a 4 points difference on top. Juventus are leading the Serie E points table with 66 points from 27 games while Lazio are second with 62 points.


A Meijers (38’), R Malinovsky (66′) and J Palomino (80′) scored for the home side while M de Roon (5′ own goal) and S Milinkovic-Savic (11’) reduced the margin for Lazio. The win took Atalanta to 54 points, four points clear of thirds placed Inter Milan who on Wednesday drew 3-3 with Sassuolo at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.


R Lukaku (41′ penalty) C Biraghi (45’) B Valero (86′) were on target for Inter while F Caputo (4′) D Berardi (81’penalty) G Magnani (89′) scored for Sassuolo. Inter Milan now has 58 points from 27 games.
