Internet Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in opening four minutes of the game to put European champion Portugal back on track in World Cup 2018 qualifiers, while France saved their day thanks to the two goals from forward Kevin Gameiro against Bulgaria.

Ronaldo, who missed Portugal’s opening game against Switzerland because of a knee injury in the final of Euro 2016, returned to action on Friday by scoring two goals in just 4 minutes for a 6-0 win over nine-man Andorra in Group B.

Switzerland secured a late 3-2 win over Hungery to stay in the group lead, ahead of the surprising team Faeroe Islands.

Euro 2016 runner-up France conceded early goal but got back in contention in Group A with a 4-1 win over Bulgaria, with Gameiro scoring his first goals for the national team in more than five years.

The Netherlands  and Sweden also claimed their first victories in theWorld Cup qualifiers, and all three teams are at the top of the group after two rounds.
