Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma is not taking it easy during his break from the ongoing Ireland tour. He has started preparing for the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup 2023. He was spotted in Mumbai, sharing pictures of his training regimen on his social media.

Rohit, who last played an international match a month ago against West Indies, is set to join the team for a week-long camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru starting on August 23. This camp will include fitness drills and campaigns to prepare the players for the Asia Cup.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had given Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli a break ahead of the Asia Cup, as they were not part of the Ireland series. The selectors have rested them from T20Is this year to provide opportunities to younger players in preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The Asia Cup 2023 is set to begin on August 30 in Multan, with India's opening match against Pakistan on September 2. The BCCI selectors are expected to finalize the Asia Cup squad on August 21, serving as a dress rehearsal for the ODI World Cup 2023 squad selection.
