Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian players had a surprise visitor during the camp at the KSCA facility in Alur on Monday. Rishabh Pant, who is on his road to recovery paid a visit to the Indian camp before the squad flies to Sri Lanka for upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

Pant was seen interacting with fellow teammates and cheering them from outside. He later went into the middle to have a word with Head Coach Rahul Dravid as well. The dashing wicketkeeper batter will be missed during the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup which starts next month. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are the two wicketkeepers selected in the Indian squad for the continental event. Sanju Samson too is also in the Asia Cup squad as a travelling reserve.

Rishabh is currently continuing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy. Pant suffered a horrific road accident in December last year. He has made rapid progress in his recovery but is still a few months away before he will be back in action.

The Indian team will fly out to Sri Lanka on the wee hours of Wednesday, August 30. Rohit and his boys kick-start their Asia Cup campaign against arch rivals Pakistan in Kandy on September 02. The Men in Blue will play their next match against Nepal on September 4.
