Internet Desk: Bengal’s pace spearhead Mohammed Shami’s 6-wicket haul helped the side to win their first match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy season against Chhattisgarh at Raipur on the final day of the match. Manoj Tiwary & Co. took the final five wickets in the morning session to win the match with an innings and 160 runs and earned full 7 points in their second match of the campaign.
It was a milestone match for Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwary and star pacer Ashoke Dinda as they were playing their 100th first-class match. Dinda made the match memorable for him as he claimed 10 wickets by giving just 47 runs in the game. On the other hand Manoj Tiwary’s aggressive captaincy throughout the match helped the side to win the game.
On a batting friendly track it was always going to be difficult to take 20 wickets, but the two veteran pacers rose to the occasion letting the cherry swivel, move, swing and snap at the bowlers at their masters’ call leaving the home team stuck in hedge maze.
The pacers began in a whirlwind manner in the morning and the skipper threw caution to the wind letting them bowl with nine players manning the slip cordon. This certainly put pressure of the already shaky.

Mohammad Shami and Ashoke Dinda began in a whirlwind fashion right from the beginning. Shami was the first to strike removing Jatin Saxena for 12 and it was followed with a two wicket burst from Dinda removing Ruikar and Manoj Singh. After this it was a matter of time before the game was wrapped up.
Dinda who finished with 3 wickets for 26 at a miserly rate of 1.9 runs an over, had a match figure of perfect 10, while Shami finished with 6 for 61.
