PWL : Mumbai Garuda get the better of Bengaluru Yodhas

Mumbai-GarudaLudhiana , December 15 : Mumbai Garuda defeated Bengaluru Yodhas 5-2 in the first edition of the  Pro Wrestling League  at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana.  Legendary Actor Dharmendra was present on this occasion  to witness the live action.

Mumbai had earlier defeated Punjab Royals by a similar scoreline in the opening match of the tournament. The two teams were highly regarded as  favourites and thus the bout was expected to be exciting one. Georgian Levan Berianidze started the proceddings in style by defeating his compatriots   Davit Modzmanashvili   4-1. He just outclassed his opponent who didn’t have a chance to stand. Davit took the lead before the break but Levan came back brilliantly to win the match.

Rahul Aware doubled Mumbai’s lead by defeating Sandeep Tomar 5-0. In the women’s 53 kg category Odunayo  Adekuoroye demolished bengaluru’s Lalita Sherawat by 10-0 in a minute and 21 seconds.

Mumbai won the first five bouts in the best of the seven tie, before Narsingh Yadav and Bajrang Punia gave the Yodhas something to smile by winning the last two bouts.

Mumbai’s Icon player Adeline Grey makes it 5-0 in a one sided match against Navjot Kaur. Narsingh was against Pardeep and won by 6-0. He first opened up a lead of 4-0 and then continued his domination towards the end of the match. On the other side the 2013 World Championships bronze   medalist  Bajrang displayed superior technique till the end to seal  a well-deserved win.
