Prithvi Shaw ruled out of the remainder of his stint with Northamptonshire due to knee injury

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a blow to Prithvi Shaw, he will not be available for the remaining matches for Northamptonshire due to an injury to his knee. Prithvi injured his knee while fielding in the match against Durham and subsequent scan results received on Wednesday morning revealed that the injury is worse than initially expected.

According to Head Coach of the county side, John Sadler, “In his short stint Prithvi has made a huge impact on us as a club. It is a huge shame he will not be with us for the remainder of this comp.”

He added, “He’s an extremely humble young man, he’s very respectful and had been so grateful for the opportunity to represent Northamptonshire.”

Prithvi has been in tremendous form in ongoing One Day Cup 2023. The 23 year old is currently the leading run-scorer in the competition having amassed 429 runs across four innings including a record breaking 244 against Somerset.

Prithvi will see a specialist in London on Friday before flying back to India. After coming back to India, he will head straight to National Cricket Academy where he will undergo his rehab.
