Kolkata: Mohun Bagan suffers a serious blow, as three of their key players have decided to snub their offer and have already signed for the players draft of the forthcoming ISL season. Mohun Bagan’s right full-back Pritam Kotal had decided to go for the draft the moment Atletoco de Kolkata decided not to retain him.Now two more players have joined that list.
Mohun Bagan’s versatile midfielder Souvik Chakraborty was caught in two minds to take a final decision. But on Wednesday, he finally decided that he would go for the draft to play in the ISL 2017. Mohun Bagan and India international Pronay Halder, who was struggling for an injury, has also decided to try his luck in the ISL. Though both the players had lucrative offers from Mohun Bagan, they made up their mind to play the cash rich ISL which has got an AFC berth a few days back.
Mohun Bagan fans have a good news as well, as Raju Gaikwad is likely to sign for the Mariners, despite the strong interests of a few ISL franchises. Meanwhile, Balwant Singh is yet to decide his future.
Mohun Bagan almost had a set team in the last few seasons and this debacle would certainly throw a new challenge for them in the forthcoming season.
