Internet Desk: Mahesh Gawli is in search of new talented footballers. He wants to bring in new footballers from Mizoram. This idea has pushed him to open a football academy in Mizoram soon. The planning and structure is over, only the construction part is left. As this state has produced talented footballers like Shylo Malsawmtluanga and Jeje Lalpekhlua in the past we can hope to see some more.

Selective players from this academy will join Gawli’s Academy in Goa. He is basically into a football scout programme to bring in talented footballers from the hills.

Mahesh was a stopper and was a part of India’s 2007 Nehru Cup winning squad. He announced his retirement on December 26, 2011. He has played for Dempo for the better part of his career and was a member of Dempo’s I-league/ NFL squad several times.

In India there have been many football academies but the success rate is on the below par margin for all these academies barring some. Tata Football Academy is one of them. Over the years they have been producing great footballers and still they take part in few tournaments.

Hope, Mahesh’s academy produces some great footballers in the future and it makes a mark in Indian football.
