Ligue 1: Nice fans invade pitch to attack Marseille players; match temporarily stopped – Watch Video
Xtra Time Web Desk: The Ligue 1 fixture between Nice and Marseille at the Allianz Riviera Stadium on Sunday night was temporarily suspended after a number of Nice supporters broke onto the pitch to attack the opposition players.
The incident took place in the 74th minute, and led to an enormous brawl on the pitch and the players walking off the pitch. The players and spectators had a free for all as the situation went out of control.
The trouble started as Dimitri Payet threw a water bottle back into the crowd after it had hit him as he was preparing to take a corner. Moments, a number of Nice fans broke onto the field of play, leading to referee Benoit Bastien temporarily suspending the match.
It restarted shortly after, with Nice leading 1-0 after a Kasper Dolberg strike in the 49th minute.
