Internet Desk: Virat Kohli’s blistering knock of 235 runs in fourth test at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Saturday received appreciation from legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on Monday.

India won the fourth test match by an innings and 36 runs against England on Monday. The win also helped the hosts to grab an unassailable 3-0 lead over the visitors at the Wankhede Stadium in the five-Test series.

After this victory, a very pleased Lata dedicated the song ‘Aakash Ke Us Paar Bhi’ to Kohli and shared on her Twitter account on Monday.

Lata Mangeshkar posted, “Khas taur se Virat Kohli ko badhaai deti hun jinhone 235 run banaaye.”

The song is an emotional version by Lata Mangeshkar, which is very inspirational and uplifting.  The music was composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar and the lyrics were penned by Gulzar. The song is taken from the album ‘Mere Watan Ke Logo’ by Lata Mangeshkar. The album was released on 27 January 1963 on Saregama.

Lata’s passion for cricket is not unknown. In fact, it’s her favourite game. And this is also not the first time she has tweeted about the game, either. She tweeted when Sachin Tendukar retired and so when Rahul Dravid did in 2012. She also congratulates the team whenever they win a significant match.

Kohli hasn’t responded to the veteran singer yet, but her followers are all praise for both of them.
