Internet Desk: England will miss the services of their star middle order batsman Joe Root in the beginning of the ODI rubber against India, as he and his partner Carrie Cotterell are expecting their first baby in next few days.

The 26-year-old, who recently scored 491 runs in the 4-0 Test series defeat to the Men in Blue, has opted to stay with partner Carrie who will be entering the final stages of pregnancy, a report in by the media said.

After a Christmas break, the England limited overs team are scheduled to arrive in India on Thursday which might be possible date of arrival of the baby.

MS Dhoni led Indian side will face Eion Morgan an Co. in a three match ODI series starting on January 15 in Pune. They will play three T-20 internationals too after the ODI rubber.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has not made any official announcement regarding Root’s delay to join the England limited overs squad.
