IPL Auction 2018: IPL gets the first Nepalese player in its history

Internet Desk: Sandeep Lamichhane, leg-spinner from Nepal created history today after he became the first player from Nepal to get a chance of playing in IPL this year. The two-day IPL auction ended in Bangalore today, where the IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils bought him with a base price of Rs 20 lakh.

The 17-year old cricketer will get valuable tips from veteran Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir along with star Aussie power-hitter Glen Maxwell and Trent Boult.

The Nepalese cricketer came under limelight after he took five wickets, which also included a hat-trick against Ireland in ICC U19 World Cup back in 2016. He also has had the lucky chance to train at the Micheal Clarke Academy which is run by the former Australian World Cup winning captain.

An admirer of legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne, Lamichhane has already played nine list A games where he took 12 wickets. His best figure is 3 for 48.
