IPL 9: Mark Boucher appointed as wicket keeper consultant by Knight Riders

Internet Desk: Former South African cricketer Mark Boucher has been appointed as the wicket keeper consultant for Kolkata Knight Riders. Boucher has joined the Knight Riders camp on Wednesday. He will join his former team mate Jaques Kallis, who is the head coach of the two time former champions.

Boucher has earlier played for the Knight Riders during the 2011 season. He also represented Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2008-2010. The 39 year old was was forced to retire back in 2012 after suffering a blow to his eye during a warm-up during their tour of England. The former Proteas cricketer has played 147 tests, 295 ODI’s and 25 T20I’s for his country.

Boucher will be assisting Robin Uthappa and Sheldon Jackson.

The Gautam Gambhir-led side are currently leading the IPL table with six wins from nine games, and will next face Gujarat Lions at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 8.
