IPL 2024: Virat Kohli goes past Mahendra Singh Dhoni in all time sixes list of league

Xtra Time Web Desk: Virat Kohli surpassed the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the all time list of most sixes in the history of the IPL. Kohli hit his 241st six of the league during the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, marking his forth six of the night. This achievement propelled him past Dhoni, who has scored 239 sixes in the cash-rich league.

Kohli further solidified his performance by notching up his 101st fifty-plus score in T20 cricket, achieving his 52nd IPL half-century in just 36 balls against KKR. Kohli was on a six-hitting and record-breaking spree as he hit the most sixes for Bengaluru in the IPL.

He also became the 2nd Indian, after Rohit Sharma, with the most number of maximums. Chris Gayle topped the charts, followed by Rohit and AB de Villiers.

Kohli kicked off IPL 2024 on a stellar note as he scored a match winning knock of 77 runs from 49 balls against Punjab Kings. He followed it up with his 2nd consecutive half century against KKR. The star batter will look to continue his brilliant form to add more steam to Bengaluru’s bid to win a title.
