Xtra Time Web Desk: During their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Chennai at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, April 5, Hyderabad and their captain, Pat Cummins, opted not to appeal for an ‘Obstructing the field’ dismissal against Ravindra Jadeja. In the 19th over of CSK’s innings, there was potential for controversy had SRH appealed against Jadeja, but they chose not to. Despite being an Australian, he chose not to act like one. He remained calmed and handled the situation which is not so an Aussie conduct. He showed great sportsman spirit.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a yorker, and Jadeja pushed the ball into the ground. Upon realizing that Jadeja was out of the crease, the bowler attempted to dislodge the stumps. However, Jadeja obstructed the line of the throw, as observed by Heinrich Klaase.

Despite this, Pat Cummins, the skipper of SRH, refrained from making an appeal. If Cummins and SRH had appealed, the decision would have been referred to the third umpire, Bruce Oxenford, to determine whether Jadeja was out or not. Hyderabad could have earned some fair play points through their conduct.
