Xtra Time Web Desk: Sakshi Singh echoed the emotions of millions of Chennai fans after Mahendra Singh Dhoni wound back the clock, coming up with a sensational cameo in CSK’s 20-run loss to Delhi in an IPL 2024 match in Vizag on Sunday, March 31. Dhoni’s wife took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the former CSK captain winning the best strike of the match award for his 16-ball 37 which ended in vain as Delhi successfully defended 191 in Visakhapatnam, their makeshift home in the new season.

Captain Cool walked out to bat at No. 8 when CSK were down and out. The equation went down to 72 runs in the last 23 balls when Dhoni walked out to bat for the first time in IPL 2024. He began his knock with a boundary against Mukesh Kumar and sent the Vizag crowd, which was predominantly yellow into a frenzy, smashing as many as 3 sixes and 4 boundaries.

Dhoni gave something to cheer for the Chennai fans across the world as he won the Electric Striker of the Match award for his sensational cameo which went in vain.

Sakshi took to social media to express her delight at Dhoni’s return to his best with the bat after having undergone knee surgery to get ready for the IPL 2024 season. Sakshi also congratulated Rishabh Pant for his first win as Delhi captain on his return to competitive cricket after recovering from multiple injuries he suffered in a road accident in 2022.

“First of all, welcome back Rishabh Pant,” Sakshi wrote in her Insta story, lauding Dhoni for winning the post-match award for the best striker of the match.

Dhoni took down express pacer Anrich Norje in the final over, hitting 2 sixes, including a one-handed six, as 20 overs were hit in the last 6 balls of the Super Kings innings. Despite Dhoni’s vintage knock, CSK feel short 20 runs and slip their first defeat of this season.
