Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India batter KL Rahul is likely to lead Lucknow franchise for the upcoming Indian Premier League season (IPL 2022). As per reports Rahul has parted ways with Punjab Kings.

In another big development Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are likely to retain their talismanic captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the next three Indian Premier League seasons.Apart from Dhoni, the franchise is set to retain all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Both Ruturaj and Jadeja played crucial roles in helping Chennai Super Kings lift the IPL 2021 title. As far as the overseas cricketer is concerned, CSK is likely to retain either Sam Curran or Moeen Ali.

As per BCCI directives. Each franchise can retain a maximum of four players. No more than 3 capped Indian players can be retained by a franchise. As far as overseas cricketer is concerned, each franchise can retain two foreign cricketers. The franchises have to submit their lists of retained players by November 30 and the IPL will have its mega auction next month.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are set to retain wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw and pacer Anrich Nortje.

It is learnt that Mumbai Indians will retain Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. The franchise is in two minds whether to retain West Indian Kieron Pollard or not.

Kolkata Knight Riders is likely to retain their two overseas cricketers Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. It means captain Eoin Morgan will not be retained by the franchise.
