Like most Tamil Nadu cricketer, Shah Rukh Khan’s favourite actor is Thalaivar Rajnikant. Interestingly the cricketer was named after the Bollywood superstar after his maternal aunt forced his parents to do so. It was a dream come true for the dashing batsman as he made his IPL 2021 debut against Rajasthan Royals.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was born on May 27, 1995 in Chennai’s IT hub Velachery loved playing cricket during his school days. He started playing tennis ball cricket and went on to be part of his school cricket team. He studied at Don Bosco school and trained at St Bede’s. St Bede’s is known for encouraging cricket culture and is known for producing cricketers like Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik and Krishnamachari Srikant.
Young Shah Rukh Khan first came under spotlight during the inaugural edition of Junior Chennai Super Kings tournament.



Shah Rukh went on to become the best all rounder of the tournament. In 2014 he stunned with both the bat and ball in CoochBehar Trophy. He scored a whopping 624 runs in 8 innings and picked 8 wickets. He made his T20 & List A debut for Tamil Nadu. He made a remarkable debut in Syed Mustaq Ali trophy, smashing 28 runs in just 8 balls against Goa. He earned his maiden first class call in Ranji Trophy for 2014-15 season. He had to wait for four years to make his debut in first class cricket. He walked in to bat with Tamil Nadu reeling at 81/5 but helped them to recover to 268. He scored an unbeaten 92 runs helping Tamil Nadu win the game by 151 runs.
He attended a trial for Mumbai Indians but failed to impress. An injured finger added to his woes and he went unsold at the IPL 2020 auction.



During the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy in January 2021, he slammed 40 off just 19 balls against Himachal Pradesh in the quarter finals. Khan was part of the Tamil Nadu side that went unbeaten all season on their way to winning the tournament.
Shah Rukh Khan finally got a call that he was dreaming about. He was brought for a whopping Rs 5.25 crore by Punjab Kings. Cricket fans in India will be eagerly waiting to see Cricket’s latest Box Office hit – Shah Rukh Khan
