Xtra Time Web Desk: A brilliant opening partnership of 138 runs between Delhi Capitals openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw set the platform for a comprehensive 7 wickets win  over Chennai Super Kings in the second match of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede stadium on Saturday. Shaw scored 72(38) while Dhawan made a cracking 54 balls 85 runs. Prithvi Shaw carried from where he left in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring four consecutive hundreds. The talented batsman from Mumbai did gave two chances ( Santner and Ruturaj dropping him on 39 & 48 respectively) during his knock.

Earlier Suresh Raina helped CSK set a 189-run target. It was a fantastic return for Chinna Thala in CSK colours after opting out of IPL in the last season in UAE. After being reduced to 7/2, Raina anchored the innings with a 50. A late quickfire 34 off 15 from Sam Curran and 17 balls 26 by Ravindra Jadeja helped CSK post 188 in 20 overs. The duo added 51 runs in just 29 balls. For CSK, it was a disappointing outing for captain cool MS Dhoni. The talisman scored a two ball duck before getting bowled by Avesh Khan off an inside edge.

Rishabh Pant’s decision to bowl first was on point as Avesh Khan and Chris Woakes gave DC two early wickets, scalping Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis in the first three overs.
