Xtra Time Web Desk: Australian opening batsman David Warner may have played his last match for the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. The swashbuckling opener was unceremoniously dropped from the squad in Monday night’s IPL 2021 match against Rajasthan Royals. He was replaced by England batsman Jason Roy.

Warner preferred staying back at the hotel instead of going to the ground with the team after getting axed from the playing XI. According to a report in InsideSport it has been mutually agreed that Warner will not play anymore for SRH this season. Warner himself confirmed his exclusion and also the fact that he will not play the season again via a tweet.

Earlier in the Phase 1 of the season, there were reports of Warner having arguments with the team management on the exclusion of Manish Pandey from the team. The issue was blown out of proportions with the Australian batsman removed from captaincy of the team.

Warner has been struggling to score runs in IPL 2021 season. He managed to score just 0 and 2 in the first two matches in the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE. As a result, SRH management decided to opt for debutant Jason Roy who pounced on the opportunity. Roy scored a brilliant half century to help SRH win against RR by 7 wickets.

David Warner has been the most prolific scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored 4000+ runs at an average of 49.55. He scored the runs at a strike rate of 142.59. In the 95 matches that Warner has played for Sunrisers, he scored 42 half centuries. He has also led Sunrisers to IPL title.
