XtraTime Web Desk: Defending champions Mumbai Indians won its maiden Indian Premier League Trophy back in 2013 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. After that they have won three more IPL titles and currently MI is the only team who have won the cash-rich league for four times.

After his failure as captain, legendary Australia skipper Ricky Ponting had stepped down from his chair to give Rohit a chance to lead the side and from then Mumbai has never looked behind and had won four IPL titles in seven years time.

While talking about the matter, former India pacer Zaheer Khan revealed what makes Rohit a great captain. Khan, who is MI’s Director of Cricket Operations, revealed that, even though the list of qualities is pretty long, it’s the veteran Indian opener’s ability to remain calm under pressure situations and maintain a relaxing aura for his teammates.

“The best quality of Rohit as captain… well the list is very long. But to me, what really stands out is having that relaxed aura around him,” Zaheer said, as seen on Mumbai Indians’ official Twitter, replying to a fan’s query under #AskZakOnMI.

“But yet, he’s a very intense and serious thinker of the game. That really shows when he makes those tactical calls on the field, in pressure situations of the match. His teammates also really believe in him. So, I think that quality I will put right up to bring out the best in each and every one of his teammates.”

While Rohit Sharma took up the captaincy reins in the 2013 mid-season, Zahir Khan had an opportunity to play under his leadership in the 2014 IPL edition.
