IPL 2020: Karun Nair recovers from Covid-19, needs to be tasted thrice before leaving for UAE

XtraTime Web Desk: India and Kings XI Punjab batsman Karun Nair will need to undergo three COVID-19 tests before boarding a flight to UAE for the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The Karnataka batsman has recovered after having tested positive for coronavirus last month. Nair has tested negative for COVID-19 on August 08, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo.

The report further stated that Nair will have to undergo three COVID-19 tests and will only be allowed to travel with the team to Dubai if all his results come negative. The Kings XI Punjab players has been asked to report to the Capital on August 19. The team is supposed to fly to Dubai by a chartered flight from Delhi.


Nair went in to self isolation for more than two weeks after having tested positive.The middle order batsman is the second person associated with an IPL team to have tested positive for Covid-19.


Rajasthan Royals had on Wednesday revealed that their fielding coach Dishant Yagnik had tested positive for Covid-19.Nair, who has in the past represented teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils, has been part of the KXIP set for the past two seasons. He has scored more than 300 runs for the franchise over these two seasons
