The Knights will keep an eye on tonight’s IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab. If Punjab loses tonight then the Knight Riders will definitely qualify for the play-offs irrespective of the result in their last group league encounter against Mumbai Indians. According to Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Jaques Kallis, “We have pretty much qualified for the playoffs. It's a different kind of pressure now. We have still got one game to go. Again, it's not about the season but worrying about the next game. We don't think too far ahead, just try and plan for the next game.” Talking about his side’s lackadaisical performance against Kings XI Punjab in the last match, Kallis said, “We let ourselves down in the last game.” He further added, “We were off to a great start and I think the platform has been well set throughout the season. We have had very good starts and most of the times we have converted them. In the last game like I said we let ourselves down.” The format has seen many surprising results and the former South African all-rounder is aware of it. “In T20 cricket, you don't win all matches. There are hard totals that you chase down as well as easy totals can't be chase down. So you got to plan accordingly. We took some valuable lessons going into the next game. The guys are ready to comeback from that. Hopefully we can put up a good performance in the next game,” said Kallis in a promotional golf tournament at Royal Calcutta Golf Club. The Knights took time-off from the cricket today to take part in a charity golf tournament. Cricketers like Collin de Grandhomme, Trent Boult along with Head Coach Jaques Kallis, assistant coach Simon Katich and CEO Venky Mysore took part in it. Talking about the charity event, Kallis said, “We always try to give our best on the day and do as well as we can. Our guys have played really well throughout the season. We have had a good time away from it (cricket) as well. We are fortunate to have good owners. I thank Venky (Mysore) for understanding the importance of getting away from the game.” According to KKR CEO Venky Mysore, “Many of our players enjoy golf. It's a good way to take your mind off cricket. The last seven years that I have been involved with KKR and Jacques, we have had some enjoyable rounds of golf. Three years ago we decided to make it an annual charity golf event. I have found this a terrific platform to say thanks to city of Kolkata for all the love and support.”
