IPL 2017: Chris Gayle achieves an unbelievable record in T20 cricket

Internet Desk: West Indian power-hitter Chris Gayle became the first player to score 10,000 runs in T-20 cricket on Tuesday. Gayle created the history in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s crucial match against Gujarat Lions in the ongoing Indian Premier League season 10.

Gayle is known for his aggressive batting and plays in T20 leagues all around the world. Amongst the popular franchises, he plays for Karachi Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Somerset and others.

Other players in the most runs in T20s include Brendon McCullum (7524), Brad Hodge (7338), David Warner (7156), Kieron Pollard (7087). This shows how Gayle is far ahead of others in the run count.

While playing for Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League, he scored the fastest T20 fifty off just 12 balls. The left-arm batsman has 736 sixes and 764 fours in his T20 career, the most by any batsman in the shortest format.

Chris Gayle has not only opened up the 10k runs club in T20s but also owns numerous other records in international and league cricket.
