INDvsSA, 3rd ODI: Samson, Arshdeep star as India defeat Proteas by 78 runs to clinch series

Xtra Time Web Desk: Sanju Samson’s stellar century paved the way for India to claim a 2-1 series victory against South Africa in the third ODI at Boland Park, Paarl on Thursday. Samson’s maiden international century, a composed 108, laid the foundation for India’s competitive total of 296/8 in 50 overs. Despite losing early wickets to Aiden Markram’s decision to bowl first, debutant Rajat Patidar’s entertaining 22 and Tilak Varma’s contribution of 52 provided crucial support.

In response, the South African batting struggled on a challenging surface, with Arshdeep Singh leading India’s bowlers with a notable 4/30. Washington Sundar (2/38) and Avesh Khan (2/45) also made significant contributions. The Proteas fell short, bowled out for 218 in 45.5 overs, with Tony de Zorzi’s valiant 81 going in vain. Mukesh Kumar’s crucial wicket of David Miller played a pivotal role in India’s dominance.
