Xtra Time Web Desk: The past year brought a rollercoaster of emotions for Indian cricket team, blending highs and lows in an exhilarating journey for both the men’s and women’s teams. As we step into 2024, cricket enthusiasts can brace themselves for more excitement.
India will have two golden opportunities to break their ICC trophy drought as both the men’s and women’s teams aim for T20 World Cup glory in June and September-October, respectively. Unlike the previous year, 2024 will be rich in Test cricket, a treat for purists.
The Indian men’s team will be involved in a 3 match T20I series against Afghanistan immediately after the test series against South Africa. The matches will be played in Mohali, Indore, and Bengaluru. Rohit and his boys will host England in the marquee series involving 5 test matches. The five test matches will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamshala.

Indian Premier League 2024 edition will kickstart from March 22 to June. Followed by the IPL 2024, Team India will head to the Caribbean and USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
The Indian cricket team will be touring Sri Lanka in July where they will play 3 ODIs & 3 T20Is. The tour to Sri Lanka will be followed by a series against Bangladesh at home in September. The Indian team will play two tests and 3 T20Is. New Zealand will travel to India in October for three match test series in October. Rohit and his boys will travel to Australia in the end of year. The marquee series will involve 4 test matches which will be scheduled in November 2024 to January 2025.
Adding to the cricket extravaganza is the highly anticipated IPL 2024 edition, which may witness the swan song of legendary MS Dhoni and the much-awaited comeback of Rishabh Pant. The second season of the Women’s Premier League is also on the horizon, promising to be bigger and better.
