Indian football legend Bhaichung Bhutia officially announces his new political party

Former Indian national football team captain and legend Bhaichung Bhutia officially forms his new political party. The legend himself stated that he would announce his new political party today, and he did exactly that.

Former footballer Bhaichung Bhutia today launched his political party “Hamro Sikkim” at the Press Club of India today.

Bhutia announced his plan to float a new party on Twitter yesterday, months after breaking away from the Trinamool Congress.

Bhutia officially resigned from the TMC in February. He had switched to politics and joined the Mamata Banerjee-led party in 2013, two years after retiring from professional football.
