Xtra Time Web Desk: Rohit Sharma led India defeated England by 49 runs in the second T20I at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Saturday. The win also meant the visitors win the three match T20I series with a match to go at Trentbridge on Sunday. Ravindra Jadeja (46 runs) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the star performers for India. Chasing a target of 171 runs to win, England were bundled out for 121 runs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again gave India an early breakthrough as he sent Jason Roy packing on the very first ball. Jos Buttler also fell to Bhuvneshwar Kumar yet again. But the flood gates had just opened. Jasprit Bumrah was the next in line as he cleaned up Liam Livingstone to reduce England to 36/3 in the powerplay.

England could never recover from that. Yuzvendra Chahal struck twice removing Dawid Malan and Harry Brook to break England’s backbone. While Moeen Ali launched a mini fightback with an excellent cameo of 21-ball 35 but Rohit Sharma set him up beautifully with Hardik Pandya taking his wicket.

Earlier Ravindra Jadeja played an excellent knock (46 off 29 balls) as India recovered from 89/5 to 170/8. Captain Rohit Sharma looked good for his 20 ball 31 run knock. Virat Kohli had a nightmarish return to T20 cricket as he was dismissed for 1.
