Xtra Time Web Desk: With less than two weeks before Kohli & his boys embark on a tough tour to England; the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to obtain permission from ECB to relax quarantine rules for Kohli & his boys. The BCCI requested ECB to allow the Indian cricketers to train after the first three days of hard quarantine

As India is on UK’s red list, so the cricketers along with support staffs are supposed to go through 14 days hard quarantine. But the BCCI is negotiating with ECB to relax the quarantine rules so as to allow their cricketers to train at the Ageas Bowl. The Indian cricket board wants their counterpart to allow Kohli & his boys to train after the first few days within quarantine.

The logic shared by BCCI to the ECB is they have already arranged its own 9 day bio secure bubble where the players will undergo COVID-19 testing. England and Wales Cricket Board is yet to consider BCCI’s request and both boards are negotiating the issue.

The Indian cricketers were allowed to train after the first three days of hard quarantine during their tour to Australia last year.

Team India is scheduled to reach London on June 3. The entire men’s squad will be taken to Ageas Bowl in Southampton where they will spend the next one month for the ICC WTC Final. The women’s team will be taken to Bristol where they will be stationed for the next month.
