Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India middle order batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw is all set to be rewarded for their consistent show in Sri Lanka as they are likely join the test squad in England. Off spinner Jayant Yadav is the third player who will also travel to England. All three will be sent as replacements for injured players.

As per a report in Indian Express, the Indian team management had asked for two openers and one off-spinner as replacements for the three injured players; opener Shubman Gill, all-rounder Washington Sundar and fast bowler Avesh Khan. It is learnt that the team management wanted Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav and Jayant Yadav, who can also bat.

Shubman Gill has already returned back home following an injury to his shin while both Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan sustained injuries during the three day practice game against County Select XI. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is making plans to fly the players to England.

Prithvi and Suryakumar are currently in Sri Lanka where they are playing a limited over series, whereas Jayant Yadav is in India.

The Indian team had earlier asked for Shaw as a replacement for Gill but the request was turned down by the BCCI. But with the injury list increasing, the BCCI has changed its mind. Opener Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma are the two specialist openers. The team management is not confident with reserve opener Abhimanyu Easwaran.

Suryakumar Yadav is being picked because Ajinkya Rahane is having a problem with his hamstring issue. The vice-captain Rahane did not play the warm up game because of the injury.
