As much the home team pacers will be excited, the Indian fast bowlers too will be raring to go if the wicket remains the same. It might also influence the Indian team management to go in with an extra fast bowler. With Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma likely to be the three main pacers in the playing XI, Mohammed Siraj can also get a nod in .

Mayank Agarwal is all set to open the batting with Rohit Sharma. It will be interesting as who will walk in at No 3 as Cheteshwar Pujara might face a stiff challenge from KL Rahul and Hanuma Vihari. But it looks like the Sourashtra batsman will be given another opportunity. Indian captain Virat Kohli and vice captain Ajinkya Rahane will go in at No 4 & 5 respectively with Rishabh Pant going in at No 7. If the team management goes with a lone specialist spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin will be preferred over Ravindra Jadeja followed by the four pacers.

The first test match between India and England will be played at the Trentbridge cricket ground from August 4.
