India announces squad for the Windies tour, rested two star players

Internet Desk: Teenage sensation Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav have been chosen for Virat Kohli led 15-men India squad which will tour to West Indies after the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Rohit Sharma is not a part of the team and the reason of his absence is still unknown. Jasprit Bumrah is also not a part of the touring team. The Men in Blue will play five ODIs and a single T20I.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami will be the pace spearheads for India on the other hand Kuldeep, Ashwin and Jadeja will look after the spin department. Veteran left hand batsman Yuvraj Singh, former skipper MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav are there to play in the middle order.

Hardik Pandya, as an all-rounder, remains a vital cog for the Indian national team.The two openers for the tour are most likely to be Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan. Ajinkya Rahane may also be a probability to open the innings if Pant is cast aside.

After the tiring home season, everybody thought the senior players may not play in the series. However, this hasn’t been the case as India has picked a full-strength side for the short tour.

Meanwhile, a BCCI release on Thursday stated that the Indian cricket team’s administrative staff will carry on for the West Indies tour. It is, however, not clear who the coach would be. Committee of Administrations (CoA) chief Vinod Rai stated that subject to Kumble’s acceptance, he will continue for the Windies tour. No response has yet been received from the former Indian skipper.
