India A vs New Zealand A ODI series: Navdeep Saini ruled out of India A squad due to a groin injury.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian pacer Navdeep Saini has been ruled out from the ongoing North Zone vs South Zone Duleep Trophy in Tamil Nadu, due to a sudden groin injury. He has also been officially ruled out from the upcoming India A vs New Zealand A ODI series that will start from 22nd September. Rishi Dhawan has been named as the replacement for Navdeep Saini.

BCCI officially stated “Navdeep Saini sustained a right groin injury on Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy semi-final match between North Zone and South Zone. He is ruled out of the ongoing tournament and also from the upcoming three-match one-day series between India A and New Zealand A. Saini will now head to the NCA for further management of his injury. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Rishi Dhawan as Saini’s replacement in India A squad.”

Before suffering from the injury, Saini could have bowled only 11.2 Overs for 1/58 against South Zone in the first innings. Along with that, he has also batted for the north zone in their first innings and made 4 Runs off 9 Balls. Saini could not play in the second innings. Saini will have to undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
