IND vs NZ, 2nd Test: “Saha has completely recovered from a stiff neck issue”: Kohli shares update on Wriddhiman

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Virat Kohli on Thursday cleared the doubts about Wriddhiman Saha’s availability ahead of the second test against New Zealand at Wankhede stadium starting from Friday. The wicket keeper from Bengal has fully recovered from the stiff neck that has been troubling him during first test. But whether he will fit in the playing XI will be decided by the team management only after assessing the weather conditions in Mumbai.

“Saha is fit as of now and he has completely recovered from a stiff neck issue. The combination of the playing XI we have to discuss, keeping in mind the weather conditions in Mumbai. We can’t assume that weather will be like this on all five days of the Test match,” Kohli said in a virtual conference ahead of the second Test in Mumbai.

The Indian captain will be back leading his side after being rested for the first test at Kanpur. Kohli will be returning to Wankhede, the venue where he scored 235 against England in 2016.

“I enjoy playing at the Wankhede and have happy memories playing here. You can’t bat in the same manner all the time. If situation demands me to bat longer, keep one end secure, I will bat accordingly,” Kohli said.
