Barasat: Mohammedan Sporting Club and Gangtok Himalayan SC split the points in their Round-2 Eastern Conference encounter of I-League 2nd Division. Despite dominating more of proceedings with a host of barren chances Mohammedan could only managed to play out a scoreless draw in their adopted home at Barasat Stadium here on Saturday.

“I am totaly dissapointed with the result. It was a match which we should have won rather comprehesively. The credit should be given to Gangtok Himalayan SC, at one stage they looked promising for the win but boys fought well to save the day us. We will get couple of weeks before our next match so in that time we will try to rectify our mistakes.” said Mohammedan Sporting coach Subrata Bhattacharya Jr.However Mohammedan remained at the summit of league table with 4 points from two outings. The Black Panthers will face Neroca FC (Manipur) in their next fixture on 8th December at Imphal.

“Its a huge thing for us to get a point against a big team like Mohammedan in their back-yard. We never really played for the draw but mainly because lack of experience we missed some close chances on goal. Having

played with such young team I am happy about the result and we are looking forward to carry the momentum  forward in our next games.” said Gangtok Himalayan SC coach A. Shantha Kumar.
