I-League 2017/18: What are East Bengal’s mission in the pre-season friendlies against ISL teams?

Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal left Kolkata today to have essential match practice before the all important I-League season starting mid November. The Red and Gold brigade previously used to play against local teams like Kalighat MS or George Telegraph for preparations before playing the most important club competition in the country.

Unlike the previous seasons, the Red and Gold brigade will be playing against ISL teams like Bengaluru FC, FC Pune City and FC Goa. No doubt, it will definitely be a reasonable preparation ahead of the most difficult club competition of the country.

Khalid Jamil’s team will also be getting the opportunity to gel their six foreigners against some tough competitive teams to get the combination as well as the match fitness.

 

The Red and Gold Brigade have reached Bengaluru at 12.30 pm on Tuesday. They will play the first warm-up game at the Kantirava Stadium from 9 am. The first match will be played between the second teams of both the sides. The main team of both the sides will lock horns against each other on October 27.

The Red and Gold Brigade couldn’t do their practice today as they were late to complete their lunch in time and it ended almost after 3.30 pm on the other hand they had the permission of practice till 4 pm and the players decided to stay at the hotel room.

The only concern for the Kolkata giant is that the back to back matches which will hardly allow them to have the recovery time.

Here goes the travelling squad: Luis, Salam, Eduardo, Chullova, Nikhil, Bazie, Amna, Rafique,  Danmoya, Katusmi, Plaza, Dibyendu, Gurwinder, Rahul, Samad, Tonmoy, Costa, Cavin, Suhair, Surabuddin, Brandon, Charles, Jobby and Mirshad.
