Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal put up another disappointing show against defending champions Aizawl Fc in the all important away clash at Rajiv Gandhi stadium Tuesday. khalid Jamil’s men played too much defensive football and in the end lost two vital points and put themselves in further worries www.xrtratime.in spoke to East Bengal’s two legends who were the integral part of the team building process- Manoranjan Bhattacharia and Bhaskar Ganguly to have their analysis.

Bhaskar Ganguly: It was unlikely to East Bengal as they were defensive on the field against Awizal Fc in their away match. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan always look to be the champion. I think the mind set is the main problem for this East Bengal team. Club officials supported the coach as they brought foreigners when the coach wanted. They appointed a coach who won the I – league in the previous season. Suddenly he made his team Awizal champion last season but, he should know coaching in a club like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan is always a different thing. Today they played with one striker and Plaza was on the bench! No one in East Bengal will listen us they have a ‘better’ well wisher. We were asked to share our opinion at the start of the season but, no one followed it why Charles got signed? East Bengal didn’t start the season well as they drew with Muhammadan and Mohun Bagan in the Kolkata League match and lost to Bagan in the I-League.

Manoranjan Bhattacharya: East Bengal shouldn’t have played that much defensive against Aizawl. This Aizawl team is full of young players and we should have put more pressure on them. Even their foreigners are not of that quality. Considering the fact that East Bengal has been in the title race, the team should have shown more intent. It’s disappointing.
