Xtra Time Web Desk: Good news for Kolkata Knight Riders’ fans as their star all rounder is in the perfect frame of mind going into the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). The hard hitting Jamaican in a video message shared by the franchise on their social media handles said he has a good feeling about this year. Russell joined the Kolkata Knight Riders’ squad in Mumbai last week with Sunil Narine. The dashing batsman hit the training session on Tuesday after being in quarantine for seven days.

"The body feels a bit lazy, but that's what happens when you're in a room for 7 days and you can't really do much. It feels good to be back in some fresh air now in an open stadium."

On being asked whether he is looking forward to IPL 2021, Dre Russ replied, "Can't wait for IPL 2021. I have a good feeling about this year, so take note fans - you know we're going to do something special for you guys. We're going to try our best. Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re!"

The Caribbean all rounder is looking fresh after a much needed break for over a month. The two-times former  IPL champions KKR will be pinning a lot of hope with Russell due to his exploits in the previous season. Last season though, he failed to meet his high standards. In IPL 2019, he scored 510 runs in 14 matches, and in 2018, 316 runs in 16 matches. Whereas in the UAE in IPL 2020, he only scored 117 runs in 10 matches and took just six wickets.

The Knight Riders will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against last season’s runners up Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chennai on April 11.
